Fuel Scarcity hits Lagos

FUEL scarcity hit Lagos State at the weekend as long queues resurfaced at filing stations across the metropolis.
When The Guardian visited some of the filling stations in the metropolis yesterday, it was learnt that some of the stations were out of stock while others were rationing available fuel.
Stakeholders attributed the shortage in fuel supply to what they called low import status, as the entire market now depends on products from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
It was learnt that the marketers have withdrawn from fuel importation due to the intrigues that trailed the subsidy report, which indicted several oil marketers and consequently led to withholding of the outstanding subsidy claim
